The Light - Disturbed

This song was originally put at the conclusion/resolution of the whole Dreaming City thing, but I felt that it encompassed Myss' entire journey (so far) than just that one moment.

1. The Ash Is in Our Clothes - Sleeping At Last

Purely instrumental mood music, Myss getting the feel of her new life. Rezzing in the wreckage of her Galliot wearing busted Corsair gear, arriving at the Tower & adjusting to life as a Guardian.

2. Saturn - Sleeping At Last

Also a mood piece, but then I discovered it had lyrics, and the lyrics were fitting. Myss reflecting on conversations & lessons imparted on her by her first friend, and looking back on them before...

3. Casualty - Hidden Citizens

... the first tragedy of Myss' life. Her entire fireteam is lost during a mission, and she's left with immense survivor's guilt. She's trying to figure out how to pick herself up and move on into her immortal life.

4. Bow to No One - The Taken King Soundtrack

Mara Sov's theme. Myss was rezzed just after VoG was conquered and, after the loss of her first fireteam, she found a sense of belonging as she aided the Awoken during the House of Wolves ordeal.

5. Good Thing - Zedd & Kehlani

Myss gives up finding a new fireteam for the rest of D1's timeline and instead focuses her energy on helping the Awoken, and finds a new sense of confidence & self. She's open to fireteams in the future, but not now.

6. Inner Light - Destiny 2 OST

A song to mark the timeline. The feeling of a new Golden Age on the horizon. Even if she was focusing on Awoken v. Taken initiatives, it felt good to be a Guardian at this time. At least until...

7. Don't Follow - Shelby Merry

Lightless, hiding, afraid. It brought back similar feelings from that first loss. Myss spent a large chunk of time in the wilderness, honing her survival skills away from the Cabal-infested City remnants of civilization.

8. Boomerang - Smash Into Pieces

The Light's back, she's made some new friends, she finds some prowess and minor notoriety in the Crucible... She felt like herself again, even if the Reef comms were silent. She felt good.

9. Bmblb - Jeff & Casey Lee Williams

The fledgling, blossoming MyssMaras!Also this is the wlw/bees song from the RWBY V4 soundtrack so I had to include it. It fits how they felt at the beginning

10. Symphony - Clean Bandit

And of course, the MyssMara song. My friend Angie and I spent a decent amount of time figuring them out, and how the moment would happen. One of my (and Myss') fondest memories.

Forsaken Main Story Quest & entering the Dreaming City. Like coming home, even though you've never been there. Sensing belonging you didn't know you were looking for. Something you didn't know was missing until you found it.

15. The Keeper - Chris Cornell

With the siege on the Dreaming City revealed, Myss' dedication to protecting all things Awoken is reignited. She's determined to fight for this sacred place, a place she doesn't know, but knew in her previous life.

... The end of this - From the ashes I will rise for you and the ghosts / Of the names the faces and frames / The love and the pain for you I remain / Though I'm not worthy of being / The keeper of the flame / I am the keeper - pretty accurately describes her Post-LW thoughts.

16. Leap of Faith - Audiomachine

Instrumental mood music. Album "Ascendance". The euphoria of being in the DC that first week, entering the Keep of Voices, fighting to and slaying Riven, ending with the sad & weighty realization of what they'd just done.

17. Sacrifice - Solitaris

Immediately into the horrors of the Taken Curse, the floodgates of nightmares open, and Myss wonders if she's strong enough to fight.She is. She has to be. She will fight this. She caused this, she will end it. No matter how.

18. When the Darkness Comes - Shelby Merry

Shoutout to my friend Addie's OC, Ira Aurum, with this one. Duo track for the two of them. Cursebreaker Kids fighting for the City with their lives, endangering themselves in the process. But they'll keep fighting.

19. The Killing Kind - Marianas Trench

We're in the long-haul Dreaming City stretch now. Reminiscing on what the City must have been like. Myss' love for her people & the City is slowly killing her as she fights. Will she ever leave here? Will she live?

Singing me to sleep, singing / "Don't love the bottle, but the bottle loves me" / One for the memory, two for the pain / Singing, "don't love the bottle with the deeper disdain"The bottles in question are Tinctures of Queensfoil.Right about now, the scars start to show.

20. Fiction - Echos

The Taken haunt her, the curse has sunk into her bones. She can't escape. She's lamenting on what a mistake she's made, what she's subjected the City to, and now this curse has pushed her lower than she's ever been before.
